It's actually better to take two of the blacks from the same batch and breed those.. you'll yeild out higher percentage of Whites (Pinks)Mystus Redtail;2517934; said:

I have a few breeding pairs and I always remove the fry. They will be fine. IMO, they do better.

I forget the guys name but one member on this site who seemed to know his stuff and had bred many fish. He told me that he got the same % of strong and weak off spring when he removed the fry and when kept the fry with parents. BUt when he removed them he had ended up with much more.
My cons have only bred once so far and I left them in with the parents. That was about a month ago.
I have been trying to removed them now and its so hard to get all the little buggers! I removed about half of them right before t-giving and threw them in a 125 with some piranhas. (The piranhas dont go after them at all, too small). I still see a lot of them in the 125 and they are all much bigger than the ones that are still with the parents and they only have scraps from the p to eat.
Next couple batches I am going to remove right away to hopefully get them to breed more regularly.

i always remove fry to a seperate grow out tank. and yes in my opinion at a certain age its best for the fry and the parents. sometimes one parent or the other will be ready to spawn even with th ry there and they will harrass the other parent enough that they eat the fry. The fry are also better as they get equal meals and more often than u would the whole tank where the parents are. that way if u hav othr fish with the parents they dont get 3 meals a day too. seperate the fry and then put them in a seperate tank, ur pair should be ready to go again in a week, feed the fry a few small amounts a day. 
haha i use a turkey baster to get them out of the tank, works PERFECT!!! I left atleast have with the parents and the other half are floating. It's working for now but she is kicking the crap out of the male convict right now, which she didn't do last time.
