The African Knife that I purchased a few days ago has gone down hill. He was in poor condition when I purchased him (Under-weight, clouded eyes), but that was the same condition of my last African Knife and he is now doing amazingly. He began to eat, but recently has started laying on his side, and is now close to death. Spent $20 on him because of his "size". BS mistake.:irked: Seems that at least 50% of what I purchase from this store dies from something it had already had there.:irked:
At least the Centipede and Glass Knife are doing well... for now.
I expect the African Knife to be dead in an hour at least...:(

I got him on Saturday, so they probably wouldn't take him back.

Sorry about the bad luck - hope he pulls through!
Thanks, and hopefully he does, but it doesn't look very likely right now.

Ghosts can do that. They rest on their sides. Then they may swim about for a few. Mine does that and he is eating like a champ.
But for Africans it is normally a bad sign, and sadly he is still alive, but not in very good condition at all...

How's it looking? You mentioned that it was in bad shape when you bought it. Does it still look underweight and have cloud eye? Is there only 2 ABK in the tank?

I lost him about an hour after my last post. He was still a bit underweight and eyes were still clouded. I looked at his body once he had passed and noticed a very small amount of blood coming from the bottom of one of the gills. Possible internal issue? Parasite of some sort? And there was only the two ABK's in the tank.
