THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR KIND WORDS!

I really tried my best to have a great looking pair I searched high and low for one at a time but just happened to stumble on these for my cichla collection and to start my project ... I have always wanted to breed them even before I was on MFK I remember I was on youtube and met this Guy with his pbass breeeding (dieselmack) and he was very helpfull and he was the one who old me about MFK and now I'm soo happy to be starting this project and being here and able to share it with you and get help and advice.. Thankyou all! Soon to have more picks as the process goes on....

P.S. got rid of all the oscars tonight to a friend and went out and baught some big river stones and a large piece of shale for them to lay eggs on lets hope it waorks also I added a eheim 2217 to the tank for extra BB, so now I have a total of 1300 gph turning in a 240 and temp is set at 86!

by the way how are yours doing?

yeah mine doing alright, lost all the eggs tho, but the jags had a 99% hatch rate which was good. will have to wait for them to get ready again (female already fat, and male still keep his bump if not getting bigger)

btw how come your male doesn't have any bump? regardles, the are awesome looking pair.

they have already started their courtship these guys are crazy for each other lastnite I went to my lfs and baught large riverstones and a lrge piece of shale stone slab and put it to one side of the tank and this morning I saw them near that side going crazy with each other didnt think anything of it then I just got a phone call from the lady and she said they are rolling around each other and fanning each other woohoo hope this works out guys/girls Im so stoked

Good luck with the breeding!! I found that if you do a big water change and the water that you put back in make it a little bit cooler, but not too cold. Also if you do a large feeding and then wait a few days to feed again, or both around the same time it should induce spawing.. Great pix 2!!!!

how much water to change and how much should i drop the temp? im at 86 rt now
