Monster 770gl Tank is Finally Home...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
30" wide and over 5ft high. That is sick!! Can't wait to see stock. And plants. What are you doing for lighting?

I'm thinking on planting the sides like 2-3 feet up and keeping the bottom clean with nutrient filled sand so the lightening for plants won't need to be over 5 feet in depth to penetrate. Also, messing with plants on the bottom would be a bit tough. I have bought 21 red mangroves (12-16 inches) and will start them in a 20gl until I can attach them to the background. Amazon biotope is the overall theme and want the groves to grow out of the tank.

Killer tank! Cant wait to see it running. But even cooler car!

Thanks, it has been fun but has since been sold:irked: - Looking for a good deal on a Porsche Cup Car in the future.

Very curious how you’re going to plant that tank. I have a deep tank too but it's only 4' deep. First time I've used "only" when describing how deep my tank is lol. If you get plants growing in over 5' then I should be able to also!

Now that is monster! Im going to run on my treadmill wearing my firefighting gear to see if I get the same results as you. I want to see if it can make me go bananas for a very big tank :D

Hey Egon how's it going? I'm wanting to sort do shelves in the 3-D along with adding some real manzanita/drift to the back as the mangroves will cling to almost anything once they are rooted (from what I hear) as I'm no expert so this build is totally new and will most likely have a few ah aw moments.:)

If it was mine I would flip it on one side .... replace (or patch) the top solid , add new openings for the new top...a perfect ray tank.
