Zoo aquariums teach you alot about fishes true size. I've seen 6foot Pacus, 20+inch Oscars and other fish we buy thinking they only get to a foot in length.

Don't forget though that most public aquaria tend to make stuff look bigger because of the magnification effect of the glass or acrylic. Especially as most times on the biggest displays, the front is not straight, or immensely thick. Sorry, but without photographic evidence, I am not inclined to believe a 24" bala. However, I do accept that in such large quarters, they can tend to grow larger than the home aquaria.

i got 4 bala sharks, call em silver sharks here, but any way my biggest guy is 35cm not sure how many inches and the other guys are from 15-20cm ill post some pics tomorrow

:grinyes: but............. an arm length stood who knows how many feet away. So that would make the relative arm lenght about 6" or maybe 7" or maybe 2", who knows. Even if the arm length you are referring to is say a foot, that fish would be what, 3 or 4 arms lengths? Not really photographic evidence that would stand up in court. Nice try though ;)

Fitst off IT WAS MY ARM... DUMB***

Second, the fish was turning. Look at the tail compared to my arm

Third, I don't have to prove anything to you. I know the facts as I stated them to be is true. Too bad if your in a state of denial because you didn't see it with you own eyes

Nice try troll.

Note about my last post. I'm sorry for my choice of words. I was tired and in a hurry to go to bed and didn't think what I was posting.

I got upset with the dis-respect and being called a liar over some of the posts.

I have nothing to gain by making stories up. I don't gain fame or fortune by saying such things. The biggest reason I came to this site was to help people understand fish better( from what I've seen and experienced). Sure I'm not perfect and make mistakes, but I'm an honest man... far better then most( in another words I don't like to lie to people). I really did see these fish at the sizes I mentioned.

Again I'm sorry if I offended anyone by my words.
