Hi There!

Four months ago I got three Balasfrom Petsmart, and they are doing good in my 60 gal tank, but I have an issue with two of them. One of them is growing, and is now about 5"-6", but the other two are still about 2 1/2" to 3", and do no seem to be growing. Any ideas? I do two 40% water changes a week, and the water parameters are good.

as long as water's good and you watch they actually eat then all's good, you will probally fine that's the dominant of the group, alway's happen's and they grow at different rate's...my four two are bigger than the other two

Your going to need a bigger tank soon :nilly:

I baught my 5 at a tiny size about 3 inches, now nearly a year later at 8 inches all growing at the same rate except one that had developed a deformity, its mouth is stuck open 24/7 all the time! so he cannot eat much or near nothing. they are in with tinfoils the same length and 3 black bar silver dollars about that size too. They get along pretty well with each other and all grow fairly fast, feed pellets mostly but sometimes brine shrimp and beef heart

mine is about 6 inches

A LFS not to far from me has 3 Huge tin foils no balas but the tin foils are 10-12 each. but one is not healthy at all.

I feed mine the exact same thing he/she is in with some cichlids and way faster then all of them when it comes to feeding time :headbang2
