wait till june when the water hits 76 degrees and go stick your hand under some rocks and boatramps youll find some that make that look like a baby . thats how we catch big flatheads in oklahoma . nice catch ! stick him in a big stock tank and grow him out .

Thanks. Actually we tried to transport him to the Bass Pro Shops in Katy,TX to be on display but unfortunately he didn't make it. :( The company I work for, ADG, maintains the aquariums at both of the Houston Bass Pro Shops.

June . . .76 degrees. . . maybe up in the frozen north of Oklahoma lol.

Rocks? Try mud. Noodling hasn't ever really taken off in Southeast TX .The closest thing to rocks on the gulf coast is broken concrete lol. The knee to waist deep mud make any kind of freshwater wading very difficult not to mention we have huge gators everywhere lol.

We are all well aware that Oklahoma is North Americas catfish mecca. :headbang2
I have family in Oklahoma and we have reunions every other year. Next time I'm planning a trip to lake Texahoma or Carl Blackwell to coincide.

That shouldn't count those fish are all lethargic lol. We used to pull huge northern pike and burbot (mmm delicious burbot) out of the ice in Alaska and they wouldn't put up 1/3 of the battle they did in the summer.

did you release it? Please tell me you did so it could go back and get bigger

still bring that large of a fish that dosnt want to leave bottom up to the hole is challenging enough add light line to it and your odds are def. not in your favor.

And the reason you pike dont fight so hard is because your dragging them up with rope when tip-up fishing. If you want to make it a challenge add some of that 7 pound to the spool and see how easy it is to bring in. lol
