That's a gorgeous Dovii.

I notice he seems awfully calm and unaggressive though. What size is the tank? IMHO you should move the divider over and give the male a bigger swimming area than the smaller female. Maybe he's depressed since he won't even attack you when you put your hand to the glass. Or do they get less agressive when they get that big? Mine is about 13" and goes nuts if I put my hand on the glass like that.

I will eventually move the divider but I am waiting for the female who was in pretty bad shape to gain size and condition.
My old pair have spawned for their new owner.
Mine are in a 6x2x2 he has the majority of the tank.
He was never a glass banger and is generally a very clam fish.
He does hate other fish though and will get aggressive within seconds of being introduced into a new tank.
I don't want to loose the femal that's all.

Not very common but can be found by enthusiasts, they are not a community fish in the end and need a species tank most of the time but there are always exceptions.
Females need to be cared for because the males are very intolerant of them at times and this leads to problems.
The big problem is the size diffference if you do loose a female and you have to find a suitable sized female that the male in interested in.
These two sit next to each other but the divider is still necessary as there is a big size difference.
I'll give it go in a few more months.
