I agree, it looks like a first generation red texas. Either way, nice looking fish, good luck with it.
 
I have what I believe to be a North American Blue Texas Cichlid, I may be mistaken on species and or sex but I also believe its a female Blue Texas. She grew a lot this last year. If you own a blue or green Texas Cichlid please post below I would love to see them.

I switched her tank in order to reseal her old tank the old silicone in the tank needs to be removed and resealed. I have her in a temporary 20 gallon and she has not eating a bite in a week. She was eating just fine previously on a pellet diet. I think she may be stressed. New tank new filters. I used Same gravel to keep the bacteria alive. She is very active alert and I dont believe she has any parasites. Just hope she gets her appetite back.

Well I have kept green texas before , but they did not have that coloration in the finage so i thinks its a blue. now since i have not kept that fish before i cant say the sex of it. but it is a good looking fish. Great pics
