hmm another idea, but alot of guys i know, have never had any problems just leaving the bulbs like that.. So im going to just keep it like that and see how "reptar" takes to it.

kinda stunds me how this has like no interest...:screwy:
I know this isn't a profesional build, being my first try at this sort of thing, but i thought there would be a little more interest...

That's cool. I'm very curious to see how it turns out. I can't wait til you get the BT in there... Are you filling up the bottom with dirt or mulch or something?

Cage is looking good. Are the lights to close on the basking shelf? I think if the black throat walks by they may be low enough to burn. I also would take a shot with the temp gun on the shelf to see were the temps are at. Then you can ajust the row accordingly. After you raise the bulbs they will cover more area and you may get away using two bulbs.

I am also looking foward to the dirt going in. In my 8' x 4' cage it was a big job. Yours is going to be an even bigger one.

Looking foward to more updates.

Amazing how that has come out like a zoo enclosure

haha thanks.

as for the substrate, I am going to use a mix of dirt/soil, some mulch type material and play sand. About a 60/20/20 ratio. Still having trouble finding a place to get a few bulkhead to filter and drain the pond with.
as for lighting, I will go this weekend after i get all the substrate in, and all the final setup with logs, plants, and shelves and the pond. Then set the lighting and paint the outside of the enclosure.:D

Sounds like your on track. I also see a lot of people use leaves from outsied on the sunstarte. Helps with humidity.

Looks amazing. Tons of room the BT will love it.

Deff. keep and eye on him in there with the lights like that. I have my iguana set up kinda the same way, I have a dome light hanging, and it has never been a problem.

But I love it. I love the sliding glass doors.

thanks man, I put him in all day today, and he doesnt seem to mind the lights, lays right under them, but when he gets too hot he moves over a little towards the edge. but he roams all over the cage
