Monster Carp

This might help out the "Beachcaster set-up" as follows as you can see from the diagram no line touches the water so it’s very difficult for the carp to spot the hookbait from the free offerings. In the UK some waters have banned this method as it is too good. So Australia and America this could clean up. Its self hooking as well:thumbsup:

Thanks for the tip Stotty.

I guess in Europe, carp have more value than elsewhere, and alot of them have wised up to traditional angling methods after being caught and released many times.

Over here, most carp are very easily caught, and killed rather than released.

The tip will come in handy on large mullet I chase that sometimes eat the free bait offerings but none with a hook and line attatched. Never thought of the rig you showed.

In shallower water you can use the sliding controller set-up as follows this is another self hooking rig but the beach caster works better with carp but I have used this method with a huge bit of crust on it they peck at it and hook them self’s.

Here's a carp I caught in close to a dam years ago. I'm the one on the left and the guy helped me to net the fish on the right. He took the fish home later on...

ZOMBIE thread lol

My best carp story is i hooked a twelve pound carp on a 7 foot ultralight with 6 lb test.
Took me about 20 minutes to get it in lol
