I recently got a huge hollow log decoration for my Polyepterus and it's pretty awesome. However I have struggled finding another equally large cave for my blood parrot cichlids. I would like to get them their own so they stop fighting over the log, but it seems large caves are difficult to find. Any suggestions on where to get a nice big cave decoration? Something a minimum of 6" high would be nice. The larger the better.

You could get creative and stack up some driftwood to form a cave, i often do that for my fish.,.

Unfortunately stacking stuff doesn't really work out because they knock stuff over. It's gotta be a solid peice.

While not necessarily a 'solid piece', pieces can be attached to each other to create a similar condition. Stainless steel screws, 20 pound test clear fishing line, silicone, etc. all will work to make it a very sturdy structure and those items can be placed in areas that can't be seen from the viewing angle.

Obviously this won't always work with every material, (and one doesn't want to drill a prized piece), but I've attached several pieces that way from time to time.

I kind of stay away from caves or hides with polys...depending on what you have but the bigger lower jaw types get injured pretty often when they get spooked by something when i had allot of decor in the tank.

Territories are always tricky for me either not enough or too many and someone always wants the peime real estate to themselves

I have never kept polys so have no useful or informed opinion regarding them (except that they look really cool)
