oscar + giraffe cat = territorial fights till the giraffe got too big
oscar + featherfin = complete success dont think the oscar knows its there.
oscar + pair of GT's = so far success, male gt sometimes tries to lock mouths but is still only about 7inches and oscar is full grown.
oscar + senegal bichir = win

oscars + plants = expensive constant renewal of plants till i chucked them and left it bare. :)

royal panaque + lumphead cichlid = hididng lumphead and panaque chased out of hiding places debatably a good thing as i never saw it before.

Oscar + plants = LOL

i will soon be trying 2 channa micropeltis with an arowana!!!

Isn't micropeltes the GIANT snakehead? That would be truly Monster tank!

Hey Bsixx, is that the Giant snakehead?

Also, anyone have some more compatibility examples?

10" jaguar cichlid + 4" Jurense + 4" silver arow = hole in the wallet = treatment: cry:cry:
jag killed jurense and silver arow both slow and painfull death plus £120 $240 down the drain.
a good combination is tinfoils, 2 redheaded cichlids pair, arowana, snake skin gourami and common pleco. Male and female redheaded cichlids rule the tank especaly wen got eggs other than that good compatability clown loaches also go well if got enough hiding places

I can't believe your JD leaves those smaller fish alone. Anyone else have an experience like that?

Yep. I had a JD that grew up with two clown knives. She never picked on anybody I housed her with (bichirs, peacock cichlids, and marbled gobies..the clown knives did get lipped on occasion but never hurt). I'm sure she ate her fair share of minnows. I am not sure how common it is for a JD to be that calm. I really liked her but she ended up committing suicide.

Apearrantly I'm to dumb to find the edit button...

Peacock cichlids + Electric Blues + senegal bichers + marbled goby (this assumes none of the formentioned fit in the gobies mouth) =yes

at one point also had a small oscar in this tank and the JD I mentioned previously (not at the same time though) Later a small arow which worked too.

senegal bichers+ornates+peacocks+marbled goby=yes with lots of hiding spots for the cichlids to avoid tail nipping from the ornates

Clown Knives+jd=yes+marble goby=yes (I was afraid the knives might suck up th bichers like spaghetti so they never went together)

large pacus+large oscar=no:rip

110 gal + 8" oscar + breeding pair red severum + ENORMOUS 16 "-17" marble cat + 7" albino poly and 7" senegalus + 2 5-6" geos = pretty good combo for about 5 years now, should've gone bigger w/tank. Otherwise quite peacful.
