Monster dovi

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would say that fish has some sort of parasite the head is all sunk in and the belly is sunk in and it has no color.it not an issue for be that he is in a small tank, but I would not post this fish and be proud of it.Do you feed him live food such as goldfish? That could be your problem right there because there is not much nutrition in feeders and plenty of parasites and they use a lot of copper to treat them for any thing they have just to get them to market. And the copper builds up in there internal organs usually winding up with a shorter life span.

This dovii is at Atlantis Aquatics in Terre Haute Indiana it is in a 90 gallon and has been in there for a very very long time. This fish is not in good health & I feel sorry for this fish. What happened to the female that was with him?

Every time I go to Atlantis Aquatics I ask if I can buy (rescue) this dovii... it is in bad health and possibly near death... I also don't think it is not 20+ inches because it dosent look any larger than my 17" male dovii... it just looks huge in a 48"x18" 90 gallon tank

Hopefully this "500 gallon" gets built soon I'll believe that when I see it... TylerT please tell your friend to take care of his dovii better or PM me and I will rescue him and give this dovii a 240 gallon tank to himself

the fish is well over 10 years old probley Around 13 years,he eats very well

That fish looks like it HASN'T ate in 10 years. It looks very malnurished and that sunken belly can't be a good sign. I hope he gets placed in some better conditions so it can live a better part of whatever life might be left in him. Poor monster.
