Monster dovii

I have a guy coming to get my jaguar hopfully tomorrow. I have the 55 up and ready for a few. When would be a good time? That would be sooo awesome! I work swing so I would only be able to before noo
If it's a weekday, would that work? With a mouth like a dovii it's a monster at 7" from my experience. Mine is around 12" and I have to be extra cautious when doing any in-tank maintenance

How often do you feed the pair?
My dovii pair are in the situation as yours. Male wants to spawn, female not ready, hence female getting pounded. But it sure is amazing to watch the bastard puff himself up and pose for her. Love it when he does that.
Same here, I love watching him display for her, its very impressive. I feed them both daily, he is a very aggressive eater.
Really nice specimen, I have to agree with everyone else the colors are pretty stunning and he does look beastly. If a had a suitable tank I'd love to try my hand at keeping these guys, right now I guess I'll have to be content raising smaller parachromis like Loisellei.
