I'm gonna be getting a 180 gallon tank and have no plans for it yet. What kinds of monster fish could i keep in it.Not for a growout tank but a permanent home. Peacock bass interest me but not sure if the tank would be big enough for full grown.I also like catfish.Any suggestions would be awesome!

Ok the one fish that everyone keeps in a 180 would be a jardini arowana. Its a must fish to own. I had one for a while and its a great fish. Had a silver aro too but they get too big for a 180. JAR is my vote

P bass is too big. Assuming tank is 6' x 2'

Ornate polypterus, frontosa, jardini, flowerhorn, ebjd, uaru, jaguar catfish, lungfish, etc.

bichirs? Idk if there classed as monsters but if there not, they should be. A nice ornate looks amazing. Or jardini. both nice

Well i really do like aro's but did not think that was a option for a 180. Fronts are sweet too but i already have a african setup. I like the idea of maybe a aro and a lima shovelnose. Would those two work in that tank? As far as filtration would 2 fx5's cut it for biological?

IMO, you could get a few Cichla Kelberi. They max out at 18" and are one of the coolest P-bass species.

thats a 10x turnover rate, you should be gold! i dont know about the jar and lima, i think it would work if introduced young. it would def be the jar causing probs if it were to come to aggression

Just looked those up on google. They are really neat looking. I would definately consider something like that. Think they would be to aggressive for a catfish of some type?
