thats a 10x turnover rate, you should be gold! i dont know about the jar and lima, i think it would work if introduced young. it would def be the jar causing probs if it were to come to aggression

FX5 only have an actual flow rate of around 450g per hour. Though far short of 10x turnover I agree two FX5s on a 180g is more then adequate filtration

IMO, you could get a few Cichla Kelberi. They max out at 18" and are one of the coolest P-bass species.

These are pretty expensive though. And at 24" wide, I don't think the kelberi will have much turning room.

My mistake, more like 500-550gph depending on what review ya read.

Most all canister filter pump are rated with zero hose length and no media, so on average you can figure to get about half their advertised flow rate.

wow, i never knew that! i figured that were rated with no media and would lose some flow to that and the length the water will be pumped but i didnt know it was that much!

Bullhead Catfish, Sun Catfish and Channel Catfish would be fine. Jardini's are perfect for that size tank, however you will have to be careful with tank mates for Jardini's. Mine has killed everything from catfish to jaguars. It also depends on the fish.. but from personal experience...
