Monster fish for a monster tank.

I really just want one big fish. I'm starting to consider just dumping the idea and having a species only ray tank. Unless one of you monster fish keepers comes up with some amazing idea, I'm not intentionally going to search out some fish to fit my rays. Rays are the focus, and this fish would be a bonus, but i no bonus appeals to me, than ill be able to focus even more on my rays and make the tank better just for them.

Get a big irredescent shark. Totally common but 99% of people don't have room to let them really grow. They swim all over the place and would probably be completely harmless to the rays. I don't know that for a fact but I had a big one before I got my ray and I would guess he wouldn't even notice the ray. He was barely aware of his own existence.

I found that there main diet is fish. They get 2 feet + and the volume of water should be turned over 20 times so you'd need a 16000 gph filtered with tons of surface agitation. they are pretty much tropical trout. So nvm.

Giant gourami would be cool imo
I agree that a big iridescent shark would be pretty sweet as well.

For oddballs... I dunno... South American lungfish perhaps?
