Never heard of a Zander before...

It's the European Walleye. They are almost identical. In fact, some restaurants will serve you Zander instead of the Walleye they claim it is. Unless you live in Minnesota, it's illegal to do so here.

I've never heard of Zander pursuing humans. Apparently they are similar to walleye. The fact that it was able to be pursued by harpoon suggests a very different behavior and growth pattern for that fish.
