Monster fish or predatorial fish.. do they eat pellets?

how did you train your wide bar datnoid? i have 11 datnoids and 4 of them are eating shrimp already. the rest are still eating live feeders. i'm trying to avoid any problem (disease) that's why i try to feed them frozen or dried food. any suggestion on training them would be great.
does the hikari pellet break down easily?how about snakeheads can they be trained to eat pellets? I feed my red snakehead exclusively on feeders, and i want to try to make them eat pellets which are safer and more nutritious.
I have most of my predators taking pellets ( hikori Bio gold ) along with thawed shrimp. Starve them they will eat!
