Monster fish??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
these things remind me of snakeheads..
thats kinda weird how in japan they actually like goldfish
and we dont so much
and theyre not so fond of there feeders but we are
id love one of those things

we'll in china theve breed carp to get koi and goldfish for a long time and there eaziy to keep and they have an over all nice color they don't care to much about how they arn't very smart or aggressive but they feed snakeheads like goldfish there so it is wierd how thing kind of flip around on the other side of the world

but if you mean the actual shark by bull shark i'd say you need a big tank they get like 8-10 feet long and they can't live in brackish for life they can for a whild but i think they need full salt but they can go into fresh and brackish water to spawn and live there for a while but live there adult life in full salt water so i don't think you could keep one in brackish for life

aimara are crazy to get one of them there not as boreing as common wolfs and alot more aggressive but do get bigger they are the kind of fish you won't mess with they will bite you if you make them mad which is eaziy to do but a snakehead THE SAME SIZE could still proubly put up a good fight it would be tuff to say who would win depends who hit first but aimara are the best wolf fish but are also the biggest and hardest to find

also most expensive, by the sounds of this thread this guy, is just into this hobby and doesn't want to spend $9000 on a 40" wolfish.;)

there are a few species that are known for being absurdly aggressive. The problem with the fun ones is that you need a HUGE tank and accomodations, and limited or preferably no tankmates.

Though boring and fairly unintersting looking, Wallago attu (aka Man Eating Catfish) is a voracious predator with a ridiculous set of chompers. They generally lack the ability to put on a continuously entertaining show aside from feeding times. I would advise keeping one of these in a thick acylic tank in a quiet area because they are well known to bust through glass, especially in small quarters.

From what I hear, the Aba Aba shares similar characteristics but lacks the "Man eater" label. Either fish would require an immense solo setup at maturity, but I thoroughly enjoyed my experience keeping W. attu.

Also, there are very few (if any) vicious sharks that can be kept in the confines of even the largest home aquarium. You could keep a small true marine shark but feeding would not be up to your expectations. Stick to the badass freshwater and check out W. attu, you'd be amazed at what it will eat.

Great pic! Have you entered it in the POTM contest?

haha thanks, but no. the pic was taken with my mums pre-historic cam, i'm way overdue for a new cam, but can ill afford it now. the pic has also ungergone photoshop, thus you can't see the flash reflection. and being the anal perfectionist that i am, i can hardly bear to submit it (along with the fact that the fish has red-eye effect) for any contest whatsoever. haha but thanks for the compliment!
