Stick with the natives. There is a breed of bluegill that get absoultely gigantic. They've been posted about on this forum. Consider calling your local F&G and seeing if they have a stocking program, or can recommend a local hatchery.

A small pond like that can produce BIG fish if it is managed properly. I grep up on a pond about that size, but shallower and in Florida. Pond record is a 14lb large mouth, I catch a couple each year that are somewhere between 8 and 10lbs, good crappie fishing, and lots of bream. You may want to start thinking about building structure areas with old christmas trees, etc. as well.
 
gar would be awesome to keep in a pond.
