if there is actually still 3-4" shelled frt for sale in the USA PLEASE REPORT the sellers, importers or shops listing them!
Why? Indonesia still allows the export of small numbers of WH FRTs. Only Australia and New Guinea bave banned all trade in this species. And the Lacey Act permits the importation of CITES II appendix species, like FRTs, to the US provided they are accompanied by proper export paperwork from the country of origin.
Currently, only those performing the actual importation to the US are held liable for meeting legal responsibility for possession of FRTs. Once the turts are bought by end-users (retail customers) they are considered to be in legal possession.
