okay here goes. i might be getting a goliath atf, but the snout is pretty badly damaged. at 12inches it's going into a 5x3x2, it's previous tank was 5x2x2. from your experiences/knowledge, do you think the mouth can be healed?

it will definitely heal.
but whether it will eal enough to look like it never happened,i cant be sure...
cause it looks totally out of shape already.
i think it will most likely heal from all the wounds but retain that odd shape...
nice buy IMO if its eating well etc.

i just got one too. No pics though. that guy is fast. Same list of injuries. Its healed after a week in the pond. I think the jaw will reshape itself.

As long as its eating, I would get it. You can tell it is experiencing alot of stress cause of the damage and the fins are tattered. This is more than likely why the mouth area is damaged. Tank mates causing it to ram the glass and such. So as soon as you get it acclimated to a less stressful place it should heal quickly.

I rather get a small one to take care again then to pay more than $300 for that.

I doubt it will ever heal back to it's original elongated mouth. That is a pretty damaged snout. Actually takes away the look of a GATF =-(
