Monster jag grow out

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The main reason I am doing this is because I too often see Jaguar cichlids traded in at a pet shop because they were getting too big. Rarely do I see someone giving these guys the space they need or deserve and just want to show people what they are truly capable of.

Here is a pic of the future monster today. At a guess I would say he is around 1 year old now and nearly hitting the 12"/30cm mark. He was 5.5"/14cm about 5-6months ago and is very close to hitting the foot mark now.

Good look jag. Simply one of my favorites. Wouldn’t mind getting another at some point, Juat a bit to aggressive for me at this time.

A 180 is really what a full grown male needs. Genetics play a big role as well. All my F1's were bigger than the random pet shop stuff.

nice jag, raised a WC pair, then raised 2 of there spawn. , males are evil.

where'd you get him?

Because I really love the very fine pattern, and black and white coloring. Yours is not like the gold colored "Hondurans", with bigger black pattern.

Yup aware these cichlid's grow rapidly as well as Dovii's. Question for you would you say fire eel's are also fast growers?
Never kept them before but from what I understand they are a slow growing species. Not slow like clown loaches but slow. Might wanna ask this in the right place if you want a serious answer.

Mine has almost stopped growing after the 8" mark. What do you suggest is the best feed for jaguar ?
