According to the guy that sold me the 21" lap at the time he said it took him three years to get that size from 9". He only had it in a 150g and I was surprised it grew so fast. I'm hoping they'll hit a growth spurt from eating tilapia. I'll have to put tilapia feeding on hold this week since I'm running only on one filter cuz I snapped the double tap valve on the canister during maintainance.

Your fish leaves me amazed!
As for that 20" monster, i pray to the fish gods that i will one day have a 20" monster poly's of any type. But for now i got to keep praying one of my current endi's becomes a monster of 20" or more. Will let you no in a few years time:-)

One last thing you have a great collection of fish, i love that ABA ABA, seeing him in the back round makes me want one so badly and i cant wait to find one again

I got this lap last year at 18". Check out the old tread http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=252046. Just one year of this massive growth spur and tilapia is not my secret diet. They are low in protein. They will only stuff your bichir and get thicker. I've done the tilapia diet they didn't do much for my bichir just got fat. Especially with the tilapia fillet as lots of protein were lost from being process.

My bichirs diet are:
-Indonesian Floating frogs
-Baby bull frogs if I catch some
-Prawns
-Market gobies
-Smelt
-Squid
-Snake meat or turtle meat that I found at a Chinese market
