is there any aggression issues

None to really speak of. Most of these have been together for a year and a half. They pretty much respect each others' space, especially when breeding. The Tiger Shovelnoses ate some Convicts (used to be 14 cons) when I got this bigger tank set up six months ago or so (most of these were in a 190g for over a year before).

He's growing alright. Still searching for the right Dovii for the master plan?

The grammodes is doing pretty well growth wise. He seems to really like cut up market shrimp. He's definately coming into his own personality wise as well. He's a lot less shy than he used to be.

As for the dovii, I haven't been actively searching lately, but it is still part of my plans. I think I would like to rehome my TSN's. I'd really like to have some cons in there (the interaction is cool), and the TSN's will just eat them. I also want to put a smallish (maybe a 4-5" male and 3-4" female) pair of dovii in there. I think at that size they'll be at the right size to learn the tank dynamics. Not too small so as to get hurt and not too big enough to be able to do massive damage.

Your tank gets better every time I see it! I really need to make a trip down to see it sometime ;)

Thanks. I've been MIA on here for a little while through the holidays. How's that good looking dovii of yours doing?

Nice. I measured mine a couple of weeks ago at 8"TL. My Grammy loves cut up market shrimp too. He isn't shy but isn't a glass banger either...he just swims around like I'm not there.

I used to keep convicts in my tanks too for the interaction until I lost my 13-14" Jag when a big 6" convict bit his eye out...he died from secondary infections. His dang eye looked like a nasty nuclear experiment gone wrong and as big as a golfball. It was nasty! :yuck: No more convicts for me, they're not worth it.

Still sounds risky to me but you've done amazing things already so I look forward to seeing how it goes.....when it goes that is.

He's doing good.. getting more colorful every day.

He's also paired off with my 5" female Dovii. The first time I tried them he beat the crap out of her so I removed her then added a divider and let the two of the get used to each other that way for about a month. Then I added some holes in the divider and they've been hanging out since.

I'm expecting eggs any day now ;)

nice collection of fish. i have 3 different species of parachromis living together. so far so good.

good to have your updates, besides dont dose TSN eat the cichlids eggs by night cause ive always had bad experiences with big catfish.

Great set up! Unreal that you can have all of these guys together let alone with babies! Do you have a lot of shelters/enclosures set up? I like the Syno cat! Hes all fat looking! LOL

The TSN's don't bother the eggs or fry. I assume it's because the eggs and fry are way too small to make a meal out of. The synodontis on the other hand, used to have a field day with eating eggs at night. The parents soon got wise and put a stop to this.

There is a lot of wood, rocks and plants in there.Enough for each fish or pair to have their own "house". They all seem to respect each others' territory. The synodontis is cool. I don't even feed him anything in particular. He got that fat from eating what everyone else spits out, lol. It is one of the best "janitor" fishes I've ever had.
