Hello monsterfishkeeper dudes

I'm currently in the works of building a fish room(just need to paint the walls) and am going to buy an 8x3x2 glass aquarium from a shop in the uk called Nd aquatics.
I have loads of questions.such as
-should I buy the stand with it (which costs the same amount as the actual tank itself)
-what budgets lights should I use I've been looking at LEDS
-If I build the stand instead how should I do it
-what size sump should I use{planning to stock with (frt, stingrays,p bass exc) Read my other thread if you want to need advice on tank mates with Frts

I once went down the route of pricing tanks up at ND and it was frightening. As far as the stand goes you can save an absolute fortune if you go DIY. There is a basic "template" for building fish tank stands that basically every DIY hobbyist uses. King of DIY on you tube has tutorials for building such stands, check it out. As long as you've got reasonable DIY skills and the tools to do the job it's simple.

I don't have any experience with lighting but built a stand for a 180 gallon. The build was my first so did research and watched a few builds on YouTube. Proper tools is a must have.
1. Construction Level
2.Framing Square
3. Mitre Saw or suggest renting one. If you buy precut wood don't allow them to rough cut it by any means.
4. I used 3 1/2 deck screws.
5. Always measure twice this is crucial.
The build saved me hundreds of dollars and I beefed it up for more strength overkill yes but I sleep without worrying lol.
The original stand was built with pressed wood it lasted but started to bow from getting wet no more bought stands for me especially for large aquarium's.
Take your time and it won't be difficult.
