MoNsteR TanK LIFTING?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you guys look at the one I put up here, it is 1000 lbs. It is the exact same design as the 500 & 750 you guys are suggesting but stronger.

I'd go that those then. I'm just extra careful when lift something that big and heavy. I personally would go with lifts rated for 1,500-2,000 lbs. but at the rating you would looking at more of motorized forklifts

A walk behind fork lift will work, not sure f the rating but they easily handle transformers and switchgear which pushes a ton.

How much does the tank weigh?

Like someone mentioned, the hydraulic elevating carts they use on tanked would probably be the easiest.

Trying to get the tank positioned on the stand without destroying the foam will probably be a challenge.

Good luck with the move!

That's what I thought too! A little planning & proper equipment makes what seems like a difficult job pretty easy! The hardest part might be the damn styrofoam that will be going under the tank on top of the stand. I'll probably just lift the tank up & slide the stand under it once it's high enough.

Our tank was placed on blocks on the stand. The stand was also on blocks.

We used an engine hoist to keep the tank lifted while we placed the Styrofoam pieces and a water repellant covering over the Styrofoam. We started on one end, moving the strap over and removing blocks. We finally came to the end where the strap was on the extreme end of the tank. We pried the strap off when the tank was completely on the stand. We left the stand blocked up and had to move the tank/stand several times with a pallet jack while we were building the fishroom around the tank.
