Monster tank set-up

With circulation; do you move the water clockwise through out the tank for a specific reason? On my 450 at the moment I have the pumps all facing one way. It helps to keep all the crap down one end for ease of cleaning. I always assumed it was more natural - the flow of a river would be one way.

for you, south of the equator i would run counter clockwise.

i found the tank was much cleaner with circular flow than from one end to the other


arent the vortex filters gravity return ??


my bio filters are all gravity returns

the mechanical are all under pressure

the drums are filled with plastic bio balls

Hey man, I got your PM.
I'm right in line with John on this one. I use a lot of large scale sandfilters (pressurized) on my big tanks, with some type of biotower set up that is on a gravity return to the tank (or sump).
