for you, south of the equator i would run counter clockwise.

i found the tank was much cleaner with circular flow than from one end to the other :)


arent the vortex filters gravity return ??


my bio filters are all gravity returns

the mechanical are all under pressure

the drums are filled with plastic bio balls
 
Hey man, I got your PM.
I'm right in line with John on this one. I use a lot of large scale sandfilters (pressurized) on my big tanks, with some type of biotower set up that is on a gravity return to the tank (or sump).
