if it was me, id go either a nice gorgeous big pair of umbees and some dithers, with some drift would and plants but mostly open water



or i would go
1x Butti
1x red devil
1x festae
1x trimac
1x polleni/ large spot
1x black nasty
a couple big lip labiutus from rapps
one of every parachromis besides dovii
a couple veja
a couple oscars
and a lot of dither fish / silver dollars and a couple tin foil barbs
put a bunch of drift wood and fake plants

I think thats the way id go


and killer fish that stock probably wouldnt last even in a 1000 gallon tank!!

ohh well yah but the question was a tank about 400 gallons or a tank so big one fish couldn't kill all the fish in it because it is so big which would be huge if you had a dovii i would say a tank about 12 feet long would be long enough which would most likely be bigger then 400 gallons

I would do a C/A tank. Probably stock it like this:

1x dovii
1xJag
1xMota
1xFreddy
Maybe Black Nasty

then after the main attraction a couple salvinis and a school of SDs or a swarm of swordtails.

I would have tons of driftwood and plants.

Since I currently have 440 gallon of water in all my 5 tanks, I would try and squeeze what I currently have in a big huge tank...

a Parachromis community....something i really want to do

doviis, motas, jaguar cichlid, loisellei and friedrichsthalii

itd be really cool

ruck fules has one parachromis set up - motas, freddies, jags, loisellie. friggin amazing...


that being said, i would get the following:
1x male paratilapia bleekeri
1x female festae
1x male argentea
6x XL size clown loaches
6x red hook silver dollars
1x large queen L(whatever) pleco... the black and white one

and a ton of driftwood with java fern attached on them

I'm in the process of a 600-1000 gallon pond that will house Crenicichla, Gymnogeophagus, Cichlasoma, plecos, corys, killies and whatever else I can bring back from Uruguay (maybe some knifes or wolfs?).

I've seen an amazing 360 stocked with Viejas and Paratheraps.
