It's the automatic version of the Speedmaster that looks just like the moon watch. The original Speedmaster moon watch is a hand winder and is still available through Omega. I believe there is a slight difference in size too. The automatic is available in reduced 35 mm and standard 39-40 mm size. The handwind moon watch is 42 mm. There's a whole bunch of different versions of the Speedmaster, so you really have to be careful if ordering online. You don't want a "girly man" 35 mm Speedmaster automatic by mistake. Those sometimes show up new for only $1100-1200, list around $1800. You can find the standard size auto Speedmaster for around $1800 and the manual wind moon watch for around $2200. Unlike Rolexes, which pretty much sell for list, Omegas get heavily discounted versus their list prices.I want this... is this the moon watch ?
Good Choice D! Cartier Tank is the bomb !
Dixon - man, how could you pulverize an omega and a rollie?
Ming - pretty classy
stupidity really for the rolex.
i only wore it for going out it was my special occasion watch and wore it one saturday night.
i was at work the next day at the performance car shop i ran and forgot to take the watch off.
whilst selling a exhaust system i pulled an exhaust out of the rank and another fell down and an exhaust bracket hit the face and went through the glass.
to get a new glass and full service it was going to cost £300 plus any replacement parts needed and in 1995 i was spending money on other things.
i may get it sorted now as i still have it in bits and can afford to get it sorted.
as for the omega i am really gutted as it was an omega constellations in gold and was my grandfathers then my fathers and he borrowed it when his watch was being fixed and fell from some scaffolding landing on his wrist which broke along with the omega into many small peices.
its due to this that he never went of it when i broke the rolex.
i do have a russian pocket watch from the 2nd world war again given to my grandfather during the war.
This watch is for the ultra paranoid. I take it whenever I get on a plane. It's capable of sending a emergency beacon for up to 500 miles if I ever get stranded on a desserted island![]()
