Well guys, here we go. It's been 3 years of dreaming, practicing and collecting and finally I'm at the point where the project begins.
First a little about how it all started.
Three years ago (Feb 08), my wife (then my girlfriend) and I were looking for a painting to put on an empty wall in the living room of my 2 bedroom apartment. We decided to hang a tapestry from the ceiling, so the search was on to find a beautiful, possibly, 2d tapestry. We scoured the internet and visited many places that sold exotic rugs and just didn’t find what we were looking for. One day while we were shopping in Pasadena, she had to stop in Petco to get food for her dogs, and as we walked through the doors, there it was. On display was this beautiful piece of “Living Art” and we both said, “that’s it”. It was a beautiful Reef tank all lit up, vibrant with these beautiful “plants” (that’s what we called them). To make a long story short, the tapestry was out and my dream was born. The next weekend I went out and brought a 55 gallon bowfront tank and have never stopped, been collecting tanks every since.
Here’s the inventory:
1. 60gal Bowfront
2. 115gal Curb
3. 170 Frag (5 x 3x 1.5)
4. 180gal Bowfront (6 x 2 x 1.5)
5. 300gal (8 x 2 x 2.5)
6. 360gal (8 x 2 x 3)
7. 400gal (5 x 4 x 4) (this is a corner tank, v shape back, bowfront)
8. 500gal (8 x 2 x 4)
9. 1000gal (10 x 4 x 3)
10. 50Hex 3Feet tall
11. 275gal sump plastic tote enclosed in steel frame.

I purchased all of the tanks used and had them refinished by the guys over at Acrylic Designs in Los Angeles (thanks Mike).
The 1000 I flew up to Sacramento to get, hire 8 guys, rented a u-Haul and drove back (project in itself).
The 360 I drove over to Arizona, thinking it was a 500gal (the guy lied) but I took it away since I brought a big 5’ tool box with me as a part of the deal.
So there you have it, my tank family. I knew I’d be getting married, so my thinking was, get all I can get now, before it’s too late. However, the good thing about it was, she fully supported me and my dream of setting up an Aquarium room, “Lee’s World”.
Ok, now I’ve got all these fish tanks stuffed into my 2 bedroom apartment. I kicked both cars out of the garage, as well as my 4 motorcycles to make room for the storage of the tanks and now the hunt for the house was on. Of course, now, having acquired so many tanks, and of course the mess my wife saw me make of the apartment, (learning the hobby can be quite a mess) she had a provision, no tanks in the house (hmmmm?). Well, looks like the garage it is (fine with me). So, the only (other) constraint on the house was, it had to have a 3 car garage. Well, it must have been in the cards, guys we got a house with a 3 car garage and well, Lee’s World here we come……..well sorta.
First things first, “The move” when I come back…..
