I've been there a few years back. Sweet Great White pics!!!!!! The jelly fish display is awesome!!!
 
monterey bay aquarium is so awesome man! i wanna go see it again sometimes ^^ did u get to see the sun fish? they were so freakin HUGE
 
Do they use real kelp, or is it fake?
 
It's real kelp. They don't have to travel very far to get it.
 
they use real kelp and they have like 3 african set ups and the brackish if i remember correct one of the set ups has a small ID shark too

most great whites in captivity are wild caught as babies and kept till they get too big, and start getting aggressive... once they hit a certain size they get clausterphobic because of all the electrical signals from the enclosure and the other animals and people and start getting super aggressive... at which point they are usually released...
