Good choice, always wanted a pair just the aggression put me off, solo male could be good though.
Might try to get a female when he's larger. He is really vicious already though. I tried putting a few platy's in with him as dithers... most cichlids this is fine at 2.5". First night he caught one and ripped it's poor little head off.
So he might have to be a solo fish, lol

Most pairs I have seen needed a permanent divider, beani level of aggression.

Nice setup dan518 dan518 . What kind of livebearers are those in there?
 
Thanks, Green swordtails, although some of the males have quite a bit of orange on them.

I don’t know about x. Helleri, but red/orange is a sign of a dominant male in other swordtail species. Of course they could be hybrids, but I don’t think hybrid livebarers are as likely or popular in the UK.
