Got caught with the 100mm again-----So not too bad of a shot I guess-
Yes 100% crop.

your macro? I won't Lie the shot needs some work,

Needs to be full sized, sharper in terms of focus and general shot.

you chose an odd lens for an object thousnads of miles away.

Shoot it on a decent telephoto. Focus perfect. than work with brightness/ contrast in photoshop.

i would have prefered a much sharper lens to get all the detail of a craters, it was a cheaper zoom.

something around 300-400mm and 2.8 aperture would produce GREAT results.

Note- my shot is much bigger than posted, Neo has been screwing around with the photo settings for mfk, so my shot has been scrunched down to smaller than what i tried to post.

I take close-up shots of the moon and planets as well as deep sky images.

I realize they need alot of work....Not much can be done given the lense of choice though--
I will be trying again with a 70-200 F2.8 L series lense next...Should have much better results.

Thanks. Yes, it was taken with my 11" Schmidt.
With the focal length of the scope and the crop factor of the 40-D, the picture was around 3000mm.
