MoonLight on a budget>?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
dude firstly you should not be touching anything like that without know what your doing. Its ppl hacking wires open like you that get killed by dodgey **** they made to save a few bucks. If you wanna be a tight wad then get some who knows what they are doing! p.s it needs to be run on dc power, so you need to buy a ac to dc converter.

I cut off the end and wired them together. I had it backwards the first time and it didnt light up. Changed the wires around and it lit.

Here is a pic of where it was mounted. The LED already had a sticky tape and I just stuck it to the hood.

In person you can see the tops of the rocks and when the fish swim by. It casts a almost ghost like blue hue. I like the way it turned out but am thinking about adding another light to help give a little bit more glow.
pics on camera phone didnt turn out to well but you can kinda if you squint ha.

well thanks for your opinion but I would say with whats all involved I am sure anyone should not have any trouble. Read what the charger says and use some common sense. I just was at work at the time and didnt have everything with me haha. I sodered the wires together and covered them in electrical tape. I have no worries with anything as it stands now I just didnt have access to everything. $10 bucks spent on it so far I think its worth it.

Leds are like spot lights they have a directional output. So if you were to face them towards the water you would get more out of them. Or if your hood has a reflector face it towards the reflector and that will work a little better as well. Also watch the wire going across the big bulb, it may get hot enough to melt it. Its only 9v dc but the smell of burning wire coating is never good.

Lookin good, some people think its the amount of elecetricity ( 9v, 12v, 110, etc) that kills you and its not. Its the amps the kill. You can get hit by a bajillion watts pulling a 1/4 amp and live (exageration). geez, he did it right, had a clue, and achieved his end result. Good job on savin some dough!!
