Moonligjt Gourami and Mascara Barbs?

The gourami might get pissed if the barbs do the typical barb gang type thing and chew the long fin trailers off the pectorals on the gourami.
If the tank is large enough to hold a large shoal of barbs, which keeps the focus within the shoal, it could work.
The barbs come from, and prefer fast flowing highly oxygenated streams, while the gouramis come from placid slow moving waters.
