What up skirmish......Friggin moose huh!!! don't know if you heard bout this but a couple months ago there was a road kill and the biologist were kinda stumped cuz the mooses hooves were really long like dang scuba flippers......well this spring one wondered into my yard an i noticed he also had these huge abnormal hooves......almost looks like elf shoes or slippers........not a full body shot but still crazy.

here's a nice trophy rack.........buddys dad

I don't know why we don't do this more often

That rack of your buddies dad is friggin huge man....Hopefully that is mounted...

I have not heard nor noticed the abnormal hooves though...What ever came of the story-Do you happen to know?

Most people dont realize the power a moose Nor the speed at which they can move...Certainly put a horse to shame as far as work load would go....LOL

i sent the pics of the moose to fish and game, they never got back to me.......it's either a deformity of something hereditary. it was a story in the local paper bout 6-9mo back. the biologist have never seen moose w/ hooves like that befor i guess. so they were glad i contacted them about another live case.

yeah my friends dad got that mounted........that was one he shot over in either Illiamna or Tustemina lake area...it was over a 72" spread i wanna say up into the 80s

they have a moose farm down where i live but it's run by the state and it's all locked up on like 100+ acres like 30+ miles out some dirt road that dead ends at a bunch of lakes. all you have to do to domesticate moose it get them as really young babies like when the mother gets killed by a car or you have a lone calf hangin around your property for more than a year.......it's alone. keep lots of sweet salt lick around, they are still wild and take off for weeks during the rut. but they have been domesticated, i don't know why we don't farm them like cattle, alot better tasting imo, we should farm raise moose and grouse/ptarmigin so much better than chicken or beef!!

BTW i'm head up to A-town tomorrow. wanna kick it for a lil bit?

That first pic is just beautiful.

Being a true Mainer, it's in my nature to appreciate wildlife... That moose is amazing.

Great job.
