My LFS just got stock for some eels... I just took a glance at it cause i was in a hurry... When I got home i tried searching for freshwater eel and none of them looks the same as my LFS stock... It might be saltwater though but my LFS has stopped marine fish trading some time ago...

It looks like moray eel, light brown in colour... Freshwater eels have a pointed snout but the ones in my LFS are rounded like moray's... I'll go back tommorow in the mean time does anybody know any freshwater eel that fits the above description?

Oh and the eel costs MYR6.80 just as a reference..

Thanks

Swamp eels?

a lot of time they'll take salt water eels and put them in fresh saying they'll be ok
you can actually buy freshwater morays online, but i wouldnt recomend it
from what ive read theyre lives are greatly diminished as a result

No, they have dorsal fins like moray have just after the head... lol i think its piecing together to be a moray but my LFS hasnt been selling marine species... wieird

Just make sure not to believe them if they claim it's a FW Moray.

Fish stores commonly get in morays that require brackish at the least and label them freshwater. Look up Gymnothorax tile. That's usually the species they get in.
