Argh, so many erroneous uses of the word "toadfish" lol.... the I'm assuming the "orange fish" you guys are talking about is a Frogfish, or Anglerfish of the Antennaridae family. A scorpionfish is not a toadfish, it is a member of the Scorpaenidae family. Toadfish are members of the family Batrachoididae.

A 55 gal would work great if you stuck with the brackish species (grows 6-8 inches) and wanted to keep the equally brackish "freshwater" Moray eel, Gymnothorax tile.

If you want a smaller marine moray and a slightly larger species of toadfish like Opsanus tau, I'd say a 75 or 90 gal. They're not exactly active fish.

i have a freash water lion fish here is a pic...i would like to get the orange one that looks like it but i have seen it in full salt...i would like a snowflake or the green one canucks avatar or both or g. tile or all three...if i can mix all of the abouve fishes that would be sweat...if not maybe i will get a 75gal or 90gal for the larger eels and the orange toad...use one of my 55gals for the g. tile and my current freashwater toadfish...could a scorpion fish go with the eels?

Mine is described everywhere as an orange toadfish..... I could be wrong though.

You should do some research before planning this tank. It seems you have just broken the surface of SW.

If you want a green make sure you can handle this...

The green moray is one of the largest morays. Maximum reported size for the species is 8ft (2.5m) and 65 pounds (29 kg). Average maximum size is likely closer to 6ft (1.8m) and 30 pounds (13.3 kg).

scropion and toad fish are two different things for sure. One you don't want to touch.... and anglers are a waste of a tank :D

I would say a snowflake and an orange toadfish would be a great start for you.

that is the orange toadfish i was referancing aswell...yes i have not owned a sw tank before, but i am not new to monsters...the green is one that may wait till i get a sw pond/ diy tank...the fish i like are oddballs, posinous, toothy, preditory...ect...i don't like the everyday fish so the only way i will have a "starter salt tank" is to have a 20gal with a pair of clowns for the kids...i love eels and if i can have the eels and the scorpion/lion fish with them i will, but if not then i wont...i will plan it out in full before i buy any eels...i just basically needed the tank dims and what other oddball/ posionous preditors i can add...

You could do a snowflake eel and a smaller species of lion fish in the 55, then upgrade to a 75 and it could be home for life. Or the snowflake and the orange toadfish, in the 75. Eventually your going to need ATLEAST a 75 for your SW wants.

so if i get a 75 or 90 could i have the orange toadfish, lion fish, snowflake, and maybe another eel?

Sorry for the quick derail, but what would be the min. tank size required for a single snow flake eel for life???

You cant really do a real lion cause they get the size of a basketball.

i guess i should have stated dwarf lion...a lion in a 90gal wouldn't be to bad...
