this is my favorite male out of all the ones I've owned. When I first got him he was around 5-6" and had almost as much red on his body as a female does when she starts to color up!! So I've gotta keep this guy to see how he and his fry will turn out. I kept this female for a couple of reasons over all the others. She is a prolific breeder, I love her profile, her reds get very deep, she is related to Mickey which will give me that tall head in the genetics!
As for the pots, I only keep them in tanks that I use for breeding. I will start setting up solo tanks here soon where I'll buy a couple backgrounds and go with natural look and decor

Beautiful fish. What size tank is that and how big will their solo tanks be? I just picked up two festae last night, both around 2 inches. I hope they look half as good as yours. Right now I have them in a 40 gallon breeder, I'm curious about the size of their final solo tank.
Wow they're gorgeous. How long does it usually take them to get to a size to be sexed? Feels like iv had my fry forever.

Thank you for the nice comments. I have them in a 125 and that's where they will stay permanently unless I get a 180.. As for the solo tanks, those will be for other fish kept as solo specimens a 40 might not be too bad for a few untill they hit 3" or so then you'll need to upgrade. You can also divide it for just two up to 6" not recommended tho.

I've got a few at 3-3.5" that I have a pretty good idea as to what they are but won't be completely sure until around 4.5-5" unless they show sexual intrest before that

Thank you everyone for the nice comments. I just had to divide them last nite cause it seemed like the female decided that she wasn't ready again yet lol oh well, no biggie ill hook them up in a couple days after giving her a rest
