not saying that it's ok to kill fish, I just think suffocating the guy or feeding him to the rats is a little extreme.

2 people come to mind here on MFK. One showed how he cooked his pacu just because he gave it 3 counts that if it bothers his other fish again, he will not hesitate to cook it. The other is an expert on a particular fish species but treats them more like food than as pets. Since it's very rare for people to take care of such fish, some of the enthusiasts even protected said guy when another newbie expressed his distaste toward such attitude. Newbie backed off and never returned to MFK. The horrible guy should have joined cooking sites then and not MFK! You should read the atrocities he wrote there. Thread is still up.
No, the guy was mad at her either for not doing what he wanted or not getting the right fish. It was pretty lame. She came on first talking about her boyfriend doing it without naming him and when everyone sided with her he came on to defend himself, telling everyone how her fish deserved to suffer for her offenses.

In my opinion, and from personal experience, males that will harm the pet of a wife/girlfriend/room mate are abusers in other ways; the same goes with females to males, or same sex relationships, just for clarification there - abusers come in many forms.
I won't go into that very deeply, but as a female that has lived through it, and is familiar with it happening to MANY others...
My goldfish are as important to me as many of your monsters are important to you.
When my ex & I finally split up after I managed to find the strength to get away from the abuse, he put dish soap in my tank killing all but one. That one survivor is still with me to this day and is now 9 years old.
As far as I'm concerned, it's animal cruelty and should be treated the same as harming a cat, dog, hamster, etc.
Anywho, stepping off my soapbox.
