Does he sleep at night, or does he swim 24 / 7 except for that few hours in the morning? (Which, by the way, I think is not appropriate.) Even long distance bikers don't stop. They eat on the way...

   Ya right show me an example of a long distance biker going 3300 miles without stopping. They may eat on the go, but I guarrantee they don't crap on the go.:screwy: :screwy: :screwy:

I would worry a lot more with anacondas and boas ( as well as with big crocodiles that exist in certain locations ) and all those tiny creatures that go inside of you then I would with Piranhas.

No crocidlies in the amazon, there are caimen though, but I don't think they get all that big.

If this guy was swinning down the river alone he might encounter some dangers, but with the support boats going with him I would think they'll scare off most creatures.

Hope he makes it, cause I'd like to see him atempt a run down the Nile:naughty:

I don’t quite agree with everything you said there to be honest…
It is quite true they will attack the dead or dieing, but if something living is damaged or has a wound you can count that as fair game as well. While they would not only attack when protecting babies, in fact the young fend for themselves. The natives sure do swim with the piranhas, but for only as long as it is not the dry season and they have no wounds. Not trying to be Mr Right there, just wanted to make some correction bud.

Sorry I knew I was missing something. You're correct on wounded and bleeding. But about the natives i'm pretty sure during the dry season they would swim as well, seeing the season is hot and all. I dont doubt you saying the young fend for themselves afterall they do hide alot when they're young to avoid bigger preds, but a piranhas first priority is run away if they cant have an advantage over the sick, wounded, or dying. From alot of my reading on piranhafury.com, the only account I ever heard of was black piranhas attacking swimmers when they're too close to their breeding grounds.

If he has to face a bore tide, he is in for a struggle.

This guy is an amazing swimmer.. He has swimmed all kinds of water systems and fulfilled each task.If anyone can do it he will..
