More men taking wives' last names

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i wouldnt want my husband to take my maiden name. i just think its a bad idea. i like the traditional way of the ladies taken their husbands name

I have to give my honest opinion on this, it's your right to agree/disagree , I am far too much of a male pig to ever even consider talking my wifes last name. The only way I can see this making sense was if she had a better name then you did, like your name is Suxalot and her name is Smith or something, if a guy wants to take his wifes name thats his choice and his right to do I suppose, but I feel that in my eyes, this makes her the Dominant/male of the family and him the more submissive/female ? I am just giving my honest opinion, if you took your wife's name I am sure you have a good reason ??? So don't worry about what I say !!

I agree. But I really wanted to make anybody that did for a reason other than you stated feel like a woman :D :D :D

 I agree with you too ammerman19 !!I was told this is due to the ever growing amount of young men being raised by single mothers without a positive male influence, otherwise known as " the pussyfication of America" source-Tom Leykis

Eh, I can see why. Sometimes a last name is ... horrible.

Before I changed my last name, it was the name of a famous British palace. :naughty:

Thank you for changing your name. No Irish kinfolk should bare any name having anything to do with Britain. I'm not hating on Britain but merely stating this with regards to the Potato Famine.

As for the topic at hand, I really feel as if it shouldn't matter but I myself will never relinquish my name. However, I would not mind adding my future wifes maiden name as a second middle name of some sort. All arguments aside, marriage is a union and barring tradition it doesn't make any sense as to why not do something similar to this?
