Yes it's okay to mix bichirs with snakeheads, but it will also depend on which species of snakeheads you're going to add. Some snakehead are 100% tropical and some are 100% sub-tropical. Some can handle both. Also note that smaller snakehead at 8" or smaller will be eaten by bichirs or some 25-30"+ snakehead will eat your bichirs.

Snakeheads that should NOT mix with bichirs are:
Channa micropeltes
Channa marulius
Channa argus complex
All three of these snakeheads are extremly aggressive, grows big and have a big appetite. I'm not too sure about the other snakehead species as I've never got them yet.

So far I've succesfully mixed these snakeheads with bichirs:
Channa pleurophthalma
Channa lucius
Channa maculata
Channa marulioides
Channa striata
Channa pulchra
Channa ornatipinnis
Channa gachua
Parachanna obscura
They don;t mind bichirs except other snakeheads or anything that try to challenge them into a fight.

Very nice! I was going to ask if those were 2 C. Lucias mixed together?

They are blotch snakeheads and I have 3 of them. The emperor snakehead used to be in it's own tank along with the other emperor snakehead, but tragedy happened to the other emperor snakehead. So I decided to put the emperor to the main tank as it hid a lot and became very scared alone in it's own tank since it's partner died. It became very active again.
