,more ph help

Your tank isn`t cycled... and I will bet dollars to donuts your kH is less than 4. You are going to need to cycle the tank. Not until that is done is there a need for anything more. Even though your tank is running for 2 years you are showing ammonia... and nitrite probably. 20%(10 gallons) of water changed each day add prime to keep the ammonia less toxic test ammonia everyday until it is zero... then you will need to test nitrite until this is zero and is showing nitrate... good luck!

how do i cycle the tank then ?

aquanaut is right and until cycled worrying about your pH is useless. To cycle it do as he suggested with the daily water changes. It will take a couple of weeks. Don't get discouraged , just be patient.

The tank will cycle itself! You just do some work and watch:D

http://fins.actwin.com/mirror/begin-cycling.html some understanding first.

Read my above post it explains how I would handle this problem...

You will need an ammonia test. Also nitrite test. After the ammonia goes to zero then nitrite will rise. Once nitrite is zero the tank should be cycled...
4 to 6 weeks from scratch. It may not take quite as long in your tank or it could take longer. Pick a method and stick it out to the end. As was pointed out to me by another member here the human factor can play fits with science...

so how did my tank go form being cycled to not i had a 12inch rtc and a 12inch common pleco in the tank every thing was fine i sold my rtc and gave my pleco away did a 75% water change then a week later i put some guppy's and a hand full of tetras and 3 angle fish in and a power head in it

i just did a 50%wc to day for now my ammonia is 0 and my ph is at 6.8 just like it was last week for 3 days then it dropped

im gonna do ten gallon wc every day this week should i still do 50% on Sunday ?

thank you

You left the tank empty with no food(ammonia) for the bacteria. They died:eek: Do the ten each day for 2 weeks. Then see where you are at...
make sure to get a nitrite test! Make sure we are adding dechlor before the new water goes in the tank.

Did you clean your bio wheels or get new bio wheels?

ok i put it in after i do the wc

Add crushed coral for Alkalinity.

Add 'Stability' by Seachem to establish your Bio-Filter.

Feed very sparingly for the next few weeks.
