Well actually centipedes aren't insects. They're myriapods, under the large group of arthropods called arachnids.

Not very. A bite isn't going to kill you unless you're allergic to the venom or are either very young or very old.

awesome... i met some people before that kept alot of different types of centipedes and RARE spiders you guys are a league of your own ... i was hard core with venomous snakes but never with "bugs" stunning specimen though....

They are awesome we had a customer at the shop who had a centipede that had poison in its feet so if it pricked the skin youd be poisoned, you know that species?

Nope, there is no species of centipede that can secrete venom from its legs. Technically, though, the "fangs" (chelicerae) are actually specially adapted legs.

Lol thanks. You should get a few yourself. Centipedes are awesome - they strike in a way pretty similar to the way snakes do, IMO.
