More Stupidity at my one LFS (Please Rescue these catfish)

Yes, we actually get pads there most of the time. The only reason I buy food there is they have a brand I like not a lot of other stores within an hour carry (OSI). Athough I am looking to switch foods, maybe try pellets. Would you guys recommend anything.

My LFS had a sign on a 10 gallon tank that said, "Tiger Shovelnose $39.99". So I looked in the tank and could not see this fish, so I got a girl that works there and asked her if she could move the decorations in the tank so I could see the TSN, and when she found it, it turned out to be a Marble Sailfin, not even a TSN! So I asked her what it was, since I have a TSN and I wanted to test her knowledge. Amazingly enough, she got her manager who looked me dead in the eye and said it was a variation of a TSN! I said "really, doesn't look like any shovelnose that I have ever seen" and that is when this genius said " I order the fish here, I think I know what it is!" I have not been back to that place since, but the ignorance possessed by the people selling these fish is astounding! It is so hard to find pet stores that have any knowledge of their stock or could give any information that's worth anything it blows my mind!
 
You guys all have some really ****ty fish stores.. even my Petsmart flat out tells people no, my actual LFS is always telling people no Oscars need a 75 minimum may I suggest you a different fish at the same price range? The only thing my LFS does that I don't like is will not order fish.. it seems he gets what he gets but never when I want it. I asked him if he could get me a clown knife when he was ready to order(Seen then there before) and he said he couldn't. Then next order he had some but acted as if he didn't try to do that for me with no acknowledgment. It's like his fish are dropped in the tank when he's sleeping and sells what magically get there. He's the owner so he COULD order something but he won't.
 
I think the lfs don't take requests bec the suppliers don't neither. Or maybe they scare that will make the price go higher.

The 1 good LFS I go to let's me look at her weekly order sheets from her wholesaler so I can see if there is anything I want. I buy a lot of stuff from her and she doesn't take it for granted, which is nice. The sad thing is that I get to see how marked up everything is, a good example was last week when the wholesaler had Reticulated Stingrays on sale for $20. Then the fish store sells them for $80-$90! I will say this though, I will drive an extra 15 mins to this shop then go to the idiots right down the street, a little courtesy goes a long way!
 
At least I still have my good lfs. They have a 16" achara in a 220 show tank and straight out say 300 minimum for an adult. Although they have a redtail there now wih tank size labeled 150. The guy i asked there said "more like 1500". So they know their stuff pretty good. My other one though is just complete crap at this point. One tank has 2 oscars, 2 severums, and a common pleco (all fully grown) in a 34 gallon tank with the pleco occasionally sucking on an oscar. Also three id sharks in a 34 gallon with major popeye and stunted growth.
 
Oh by the way, here is the tiger shovelnose they are selling. Not sure what species though, none I've ever seen. If it isn't a shovelnose (I think it is) please ID.

There are some good and some bad ones, im lucky to have a good one, 400m from where i live :) When theres something they dont know, they either say, their gonna have to look it up, or they just dont know. They have Retics, sometimes. They have a huge fahaka right now, their asking 600dollars, i dont know if thats a good Price. They also have discus, piranhas, Tile Morays, Some smaller puffers, i dont recall a name. Figure 8, or green spotted maybe, and alot of other nice stuff. They have a show tank, wich i though was saltwater until i took a closer look. It looked like some mixed cichlids, and alot of fake corals, and this weird plastic..... I dont even know. But they know their stuff, pretty good. I some times catch them tell lies, or maybe they just dont know better. Why dont you ask them to change the tank size label :D ? Some poor guy might buy that thing, thinking it can stay in hes 150g :)
