Patch is doing really well! She sucked up her pellets last night, chased her soccer ball in the water current and darted up at the surface. Now that her mobility is improved she can do all her 'stuff' without rolling over and stopping. She even sat nicely for the camera and danced! This morning she's resting in her house.

In other news I've ordered the wood to make a tabletop for the 125. The new LED Nicrew arrived yesterday evening. I also got a smaller one for Tango as his old strip light is limited with crazy colors and often cuts off or goes dim. I'll have to get a dimmer for the new one. These LED's are extremely bright for smaller tanks.

I really wanted to purchase a nice stand but it's not looking likely because of a sudden expense. Meh...might have to go with the blocks. Haven't decided whether to plan around cost for an iron stand.

With the supply industry affected by Covid there is NO difference price wise between iron, steel, or wood stands especially once you go over 55 gallons. And good luck finding a used one without getting stuck with a tank that might leak, fish you don't want, and old crusty supplies.

Patch's x-rays. You can see the cyst in the center of #2. Doc said it almost looked like the cyst is attached to her digestive system but it's hard to tell. Says she'll have to pull out her fish anatomy book.

Patch isn't my bulkiest parrot but she's likely got the biggest bones and her body is very hard compared to my other parrots. Baby got back.

Here she is thursday following post op. She went into her hutch wed night and rested/slept until the next afternoon. She didn't eat after getting home but that was no surprise either. She made up for it thursday, gobbling pellets and dancing, something she hadn't been able to do for months. You can see she's still a bit round where there's still some cyst. It's down to about 30% after the draw.

More post op pics. I was a bit concerned that her gills got red after a few hours so wed she got a double dose of Prime. Then thursday I did another partial w/c. Seems as though the 100% tank clean wed may have been the culprit. All good now, her gills are their normal color.

This is the fluid in the cyst. It looked like a cross between pee and tea. It has a few fine particles but no odor so the Vet doesn't believe it's bacteria. when we discussed Patch not laying eggs for a year the vet said she wouldn't be surprised if it's an ovary issue. The needle is 8 inches long and full. There wasn't a complete draw because removing the rest would involve making another hole and the vet didn't want to do that.
